Gun Lake Casino F&B Food Server in Wayland, Michigan

SUMMARY

The F&B Food Server’s primary responsibility is to serve Guests in a quick, efficient, and courteous manner, in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to, taking and inputting accurate beverage orders, ensuring prompt delivery of all food and beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Pre-bus tables by removing dirty plates and silverware that Guests are not using. They must also possess knowledge of all casino-wide features and promotions to be able to assist their Guests with any questions.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, high volume, high-energy guest service-oriented restaurant preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Must be 18+ years of age.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal forms.

  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and mature decision-making.

  • Must possess and demonstrate great attention to detail to maintain the unit’s appearance and operating standards.

  • Must hold a TIPS alcohol training certification card.

  • Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Gun Lake Casino’s “Unsurpassed Service” standards at all times.

  • Promptly greet Guests; take food and beverage orders, and follow the established sequence of service.

  • Follow up with Guests periodically to assist with additional needs or requests.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of menu items and specials. Take note of Guest requests, including special requests or allergen considerations.

  • Communicate with the back of the house to ensure orders are inputted correctly and requests are accommodated.

  • Deliver food and beverage orders to Guests.

  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.

  • Behave in a positive, professional manner that reflects Gun Lake Casino practices.

  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so. Comply with all ServSafe expectations and practices.

  • Maintain Gun Lake Casino’s personal grooming and uniform standards pursuant to the Company’s policies.

  • Know where the SDS booklet is located for your area.

  • Display knowledge of all emergency procedures.

  • Inform the manager on duty of any Team Member or Guest opportunities.

  • Greet Guests with a smile and pleasant disposition promptly in accordance with the Sequence of Service practices.

  • Serve Guests in a quick, efficient, and courteous manner; taking and inputting accurate beverage orders, ensuring prompt delivery of all beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

  • Pre-bus tables by removing dirty plates, glasses, and silver that the Guests are not using.

  • Must have a detailed knowledge of the menu, features, specials, beverages, preparation of food, and prices.

  • Must be able to prepare and pour drinks in a timely manner. Must pass Company testing and standards as it relates to free pouring, using a jigger and gun. Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of comp pours and portion size standards. Must be able to operate all soda, juice, and liquor guns.

  • Must have detailed knowledge of suggestive selling techniques and upselling techniques.

  • Observe and anticipate guest’s needs by keeping beverages filled throughout their meal.

  • Ensure the cleanliness of the tables and maintain their overall appearance. Responsible for removal of excess tableware and continuing table maintenance at all times, including but not limited to dinner plates, flatware, beverage glasses, coffee mugs, and dessert dishes.

  • Complete assigned side work and any additional tasks assigned by your leadership team.

  • Monitor the cleanliness of assigned stations including floors and assist in keeping the area free of debris.

  • Ring in carry-out and food cart orders for Team Members and Guests and ensure that all orders have all necessary items for accuracy.

  • Have knowledge of all methods of check tendering (cash, comp, coupon, credit card, points, gift certificates, etc.).

  • All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Requires normal dexterity to operate job-related equipment.

  • Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently bend, or reach a height of 6 feet with or without assistance.

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

WORK CONDITIONS

Work is typically in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain second-hand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access. Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.
